Violin mutes for beginners?
I want to learn the violin, but a people living in an apartment I can not just play it – so people have suggested I use a mute. Does this work for a beginner? If it hurts to learn to delay for a few years. . ?
Yes, it will work. When I started teaching myself to play the violin, I was living temporarily back at home with my parents, so I played with a mute every time someone else was in the house. But I also took all opportunities to practice without a mute when I the house for me, so I can get used to the track, the sound is working again and the violin work on getting a good sound. Now I live in an apartment, so I still practice regularly with a mute in the evening so as not to disturb my neighbors, especially if I practice for 9 or 10 hours. But if I am practicing afternoon weekend when my neighbors are likely to be outside, I'll play without mute.
